Don’t waste a phone call

At a recent dinner, my friend John King shared a story about his former boss from his time in the steel industry, whose mantra was, “Don’t waste a phone call.”

What terrific advice for salespeople.

It matters more today than 20+ years ago (when people still answered the phone).

Here are some tips for making the most of your client and prospect calls:
📞 Keep your calls concise and be respectful of their time.
📃 Make a list of topics you want to discuss so you don’t forget them.
❓ Be prepared to answer questions about your products and services.
✅ Follow up. Send a thank-you note or email to your client to reiterate your discussion.
